Walter Booker, Sr

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Walter "Root Man" Booker, Sr.  He was known for his famous vegetable stand on Maynard Street. A Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church located at 1220 Rev J. L. Mills Sr. Way, Macon, Georgia 31201. Reverend Dr. Stephen D. Summerow, Pastor, will serve as the Eulogist. Interment Services will be held at Georgia Veteran Memorial Cemetery located at 2617 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, Georgia 31061.

Mr. Booker leaves to cherish his loving memories: loving and devoted wife, Cora J. Booker, three children, Shirley Booker Rice, Timothy Booker and Loretha Booker; three bonus children, Carlton (Michelle) Justice, Tonya (James Linwood) Evans and Isaac Elliott, Jr. and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Public viewing will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the Funeral Home located 2550 Shurling Drive, Macon, Georgia 31211.  Richard R. Robinson Funeral Home & Cremation Services has charge of the arrangement.
