Olivia Spencer Jay Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Olivia Spencer Jay on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Spencer was born on February 17, 1990 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida where she resided until college. Spencer graduated from Auburn University with a degree in engineering and worked as a network design engineer for AT&T for most of her career. Spencer enjoyed Alabama football, annually developing a Best Movies list, serving as the commissioner for her Fantasy football team, and spending time with her friends. Spencer demonstrated great courage in life, but even a lioness can tire. Spencer desired a better life for everyone, and left this earth after last reading the Beatitudes.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of God.”

Spencer is preceded in death by her grandparents, James Jay, Evelyn Jay, and Marilyn Lauber; bonus grandmother, Nola Lauber; and uncle, Frank Cusimano. She is survived by her parents, Steve and Emily Jay; sister and brother-in-law, Whitney and David Carson; brother, Bryant Jay, grandfather Emile Lauber; aunts, Jan Cusimano and Debbie Gray (Ken); cousins, Kelly Cusimano, Chase Cusimano (Katie), Caroline Cusimano, Christopher Cusimano, Lauren Gray, Philip Gray (Hannah), Catie Tramell (Matthew), Carrie Beoddy (Micah) and Susanna Gray.

The family would like to thank Dr. Eli Budd, Erin Everett, Jackie Evans, Evan Mills, Katie Gates, Adrienne Harrison, Nancy Newell and Riley Giadrosich for the support and love they have shown Spencer over the years. Due to COVID related issues, a service will be held at a later date. For those who would like to remember Spencer, the family suggests that donations be made to the Trevor project https://www.thetrevorproject.org or https://translifeline.org.
