John Abram "Billy" Monts

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. John Abram "Billy" Monts.  A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 24, 2023, at 12:00 PM from the sanctuary of Whole Truth International Ministries located at 502 South Lee Street, Americus, Georgia. Pastor George F. Monts, Jr.  will serve as the Eulogist. Interment Services will follow at Staley Memorial Gardens located at North Mayo Street, Americus, Georgia.  Mr. Monts leaves to cherish his loving memories, his faithful, loving, and devoted wife, Mrs. Ida Mae Monts, Nine devoted children: Mr. John Keith (Elaine) Monts, Smithville, Ga., Mr. Dwayne Abram Monts (Shirley A. Prince), Americus, Ga., Mrs. Sharon M. (Reverend Roderick) Haugabook, Americus, Ga., Ms. Ozzie Glenn, Atlanta, Ga., Mr. Lee Otis (Kathy) Burton, Cleveland Tennessee, Mrs. Glenda (Lawerence) Lockett, Americus, Ga, Ms. Kelly Tullis, Americus, Ga., Mr. James (Lanelle) Wilson, Americus, Ga., and Mr. Melvin Burns, Montezuma, Ga., Twenty-five grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren. Two devoted godsons; Mr. Michael McGarrah and Mr. Ira Wendell Goodwin. Two brothers; Elder Ed Ross (Juanita), Plains, GA., and Mr. William Monts, Smithville, GA., Three sisters; Ms. Mary Jackson, Americus, Ga., Ms. Ernestine Jackson, Smithville, Ga., and Ms. Edna Jones, Americus, Ga.  Six sisters-in-law; Mrs. Virginia King, Perry, Ga., Elder Juliette Edmonds, Perry Ga., Mrs. Judith (Elder Henry Lee Wilkerson) Kathleen Ga., Mrs. Ernestine (Melvin) Martin Americus, Ga., Ms. Sarah Monts, and Mrs. Elizabeth Monts, Americus, Ga.  A host of devoted nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Two devoted and loving caregivers; Ms. Jessica Buckins, Ms. Nandie Battle, Gentiva Nurses, CNA- Ms. Tonya White, loving neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Frank Freeman, Mr. Charlie Howzine; former co-worker, Mr. Ronnie Jones and a host of cousins, and fond friends also survive.

Public viewing will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the Funeral Home located at 4000 Russell Pkwy, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088. Richard R. Robinson Funeral Home & Cremation Services has charge of the arrangements.
