John Henry Barnes

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. John Henry Barnes. A Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 12:00 Noon in the Sanctuary of the New Hope Baptist Church, located at 1465 Burton Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31204. The Rev. Christopher Cabiness is the Pastor.  Minister Jermaine Person will Officiate. The Rev. Jeremy Mills will serve as the Eulogist.  Interment will follow with Military Honors at the Georgia Veterans Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, Georgia 31061.

Mr. Barnes leaves to cherish his loving memories: a beloved daughter, Johniya Barnes, mother, Minnie Barnes, seven siblings, Terry Barnes, Jerry Barnes, Charlie Barnes, Wanda Barnes, Gregory (Tanya) Barnes, Jenifer (Lawrence) Barnes, Cory Barnes, an aunt, Mattie Bradshaw, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the Funeral Home located 3275 Pio Nono Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31206.
