Jackie Robinson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Jackie Robinson. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Glorious Hope Baptist Church, located at 3805 Napier Avenue, Macon, Georgia.  Reverend John Herring, Pastor will be officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Middle Georgia Memorial Gardens, located at 3225 Joycliff Road, Macon, Georgia  31211.

Similar to his famous namesake, Jackie lived a life defined by his commitment to helping others. He saw the inherent worth of every individual no matter their circumstances.

Born in Cobb, GA on February 5, 1950 as the second-born child of the late Mr. Cecil Paul and Rosa Lee Robinson, he graduated from Ballard Hudson High School of Macon in 1968. He followed in his father's footsteps at Armstrong World Industries, with a distinguished 35-year career, from whence he retired in 2005.

In 1982, Jackie wed Elizabeth Poole of Macon, with whom he shared a beautiful and happy marriage of nearly 43 years. He was a cherished father to: his daughter, Daphne (Gregory) Robinson-Darrisaw, son, Jackie M. (Benjamin) Robinson, and stepdaughter, LaTonya (Maurice) Davison. He was particularly proud of his grandchildren: Maurice Davison, Jr., Dr. Brandon (Tatianna) Davison, Brandon Glover, and Jadyn Hardeman.

Jackie will also be deeply missed by his siblings: Brenda Robinson, Linda Faye Robinson, Darrell Robinson, Sr., and Teresa Ann Robinson, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Cecil Sr. and Rosa Lee, his son, Ronnie Blackmon, his brothers, Cecil Paul Robinson, Jr. and Samuel Robinson, and several other loving family members and devoted friends.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity that will be forever honored and cherished.

Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, February, 5, 2025, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home, located at 3275 Pio Nono Avenue, Macon, Georgia  31206.  Richard R. Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Services has charge of the arrangements.
