Benny James Johnson, Sr.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Benny Johnson, Sr.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Sunnyside Cemetery, located at East 8th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia 31015.  Bishop Joe L. Ridley, Pastor of The Body of Christ Ministries, 202 23rd Avenue West, Cordele, Georgia 31015.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. Gladys Marie Johnson.

Mr. Johnson leaves to cherish his loving memories: seven children, Retha (James) Collier, Sr., Mary Ellis, Eddie (Janice) Johnson, Bienna Johnson, Jr., Robert Lee (Tiffany) Johnson, Terry Peterson, and Judy (Antonio) Holston, twenty-two grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Public viewing will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
